As digital marketers, it’s important that our clients understand what the term “Impressions” in our reports stand for & how they differ.

 

 

Impressions are the number of times a particular post appears on user’s newsfeed regardless of being clicked or not.

An impression may be created because one friend commented (engagement) on a particular post, and it showed up on your newsfeed. When another friend shared (again engagement) the same post, it appeared once again on your newsfeed. In this case, the reach of the post was 1 but Impressions were 2, because the post showed up twice on your newsfeed.
